老师解答：简单来说，定语是用来修饰名词或者代词的，翻译为“…的”的意思。而状语则是修饰动词、形容词和副词或者整个句子的。例如：He speaks English very well. 中very well 是用来修饰动词speaks的，所以它是状语。 再比如该句If I am not busy tomorrow, I will play football with you中，If I am not busy tomorrow是修饰后面主句的，所以是状语，也是条件状语从句。
再看这个句子：The boy in the classroom needs a pen of yours. in the classroom 是跟在the boy后面，且用来修饰the boy，所以in the classroom 为介词短语做the boy的后置定语。同样在The boy who is reading needs the pen which you bought yesterday.这个句子中，who is reading是定语从句，用来修饰the boy。which you bought是定语从句，用来修饰the pen。
